At Filling The Lane, strong leadership is essential to fulfilling our mission of empowering youth and families with excellence, dignity, and accountability. As we continue to grow and deepen our impact across the community, we are proud to welcome two outstanding leaders whose experience, values, and commitment align seamlessly with the work we do every day.
Welcoming Trena Wilson
We are proud to welcome Trena Wilson to the Filling The Lane leadership team. Trena brings a powerful blend of organizational leadership, healthcare expertise, and systems-building experience that strengthens our ability to serve with both compassion and structure.
Trena currently serves as a Director with Heart of Serenity Homes, Inc., where she has helped guide organizational growth since 2019. Her leadership has focused on building strong operational foundations, developing policies, workflows, documentation systems, and training models that are practical, inclusive, and audit-ready. At the heart of her work is a deep commitment to consumer dignity, autonomy, and meaningful engagement.
In addition, Trena is the Owner of Comforting, Loving and Helping Hands Agency, LLC, where she is widely respected for guiding organizations through licensing, quality assurance, and sustainable growth. Her ability to balance compliance with care reflects a leadership style rooted in accountability and transparency.
Trena’s community involvement includes membership with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida and Women on the Rise, Inc. She holds a background in Business Administration, with concentrations in communication, human services, organizational management, and critical thinking, along with credentials from an accredited Nursing program, bringing valuable clinical insight into patient care and healthcare safety.
Her experience ensures that Filling The Lane continues to grow with integrity, clarity, and systems that truly support people.

While strong systems are essential, meaningful impact is sustained through people—how they are developed, supported, and inspired. That commitment to people-centered leadership is also reflected in our next addition to the Filling The Lane leadership team.
Welcoming Troy C. Smith
We are excited to welcome Troy C. Smith to the Filling The Lane leadership team. Troy brings a powerful presence as a public speaker, servant leadership coach, and community advocate, with a passion for helping individuals and organizations lead with purpose, faith, and hope.
Troy is the Owner of HOPE Inspirational Speaking LLC, where his work focuses on valuing people, developing servant leaders, and building cultures grounded in clear communication and authentic connection. His approach emphasizes that strong organizations are built through collaboration, creativity, and teamwork.
From 2018 to 2024, Troy served on the United Way of Central Florida Board, contributing to strategic initiatives and community engagement efforts that positively impacted families throughout the region. His experience in board governance and cross-sector collaboration brings valuable perspective as Filling The Lane continues to expand its reach.
Troy’s strengths include developing people, coaching servant leadership, and communicating with clarity and inspiration. His leadership philosophy aligns closely with Filling The Lane’s mission to prepare future leaders—on and off the court.
“I believe deeply in this initiative and see this role as part of my responsibility to give back and serve the community—especially the future leaders coming through this program,” Troy shared.
