Rev. Dr. Ronnie Clark leadership

A Life of Leadership & Service

Rev. Dr. Ronnie L. Clark Sr. is a transformative leader, advocate, and pastor with over 41 years of ministry experience and 34 years of pastoral leadership. A devoted husband to Angela Clark and father of four, he has dedicated his life to reconciliation, restoration, and liberation—principles that guide his approach to both ministry and community activism.


A native of Quincy, FL, Rev. Clark is a graduate of James A. Shanks High School, Florida A&M University (B.S. in Education), and Payne Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity & Doctor of Ministry). He believes that true service extends beyond spirituality, requiring a commitment to uplifting the whole person and the broader community.


Transforming Communities & Advancing Justice

Rev. Dr. Clark has a long-standing legacy of revitalizing underperforming churches and advocating for social and economic justice. His leadership spans across multiple initiatives that have significantly shaped policies and opportunities for underserved communities.


He currently serves as:

✔️ Chair of the Florida Criminal Justice Collaborative – Advocating for fair treatment and systemic reforms within the legal system.✔️ Chair of the Polk Ecumenical Action Council for Empowerment (PEACE) – A coalition focused on reducing incarceration rates, expanding affordable housing, and improving community safety.✔️ Social Action Director for the 11th Episcopal District of the AME Church – Leading faith-based initiatives that promote social justice and community empowerment.✔️ Member of the AME Council of Bishops Criminal Justice Task Force – Addressing youth incarceration, racial disparities in sentencing, and rehabilitation efforts.✔️ Trustee of Edward Waters University – Supporting education and leadership development for young people.


Community Impact & Advocacy

Rev. Dr. Clark’s work has had a profound impact on some of the most pressing issues affecting his community:


🏡 Affordable Housing Initiatives – Advocating for cost-based housing solutions to ensure that families have access to stable and affordable homes.

🏥 Substance Abuse & Mental Health Support – Spearheading efforts to bring drug rehabilitation and mental health facilities to the local community.

⚖️ Youth & First-Time Offender Advocacy – Fighting for restorative justice programs that provide alternatives to incarceration, helping young offenders secure a second chance.

🙏 Expanding Church & Community Outreach – Under his leadership, Hurst Chapel AME Church in Winter Haven, FL, has grown from 400 to over 1,200 members, serving as a hub for spiritual growth, community support, and social activism.
