Back-to-School Bash 2025: More Than Basketball, It’s About Community

On August 10, 2025, Filling The Lane, together with Van Dyke Barbershop, hosted our annual Back-to-School Bash—and once again, our community showed up big!
From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the corner of 513 W Central Ave, Winter Haven was alive with laughter, music, and service. Kids lined up for free haircuts and designs, enjoyed bounce houses and music, and went home with new shoes, full stomachs, and big smiles.
As the founder of Filling The Lane, I can tell you this: what happened that day was more than just an event. It was a reminder of what true community looks like.
At FTL, we don’t just train athletes. We raise leaders—young men and women who understand that greatness isn’t just measured on the court, but also in how you give back. Watching my players step up to serve the community filled me with pride. This is who we are.

Our kids walked away ready for the school year—not just with haircuts and shoes, but with confidence. And our members walked away with a deeper understanding of what leadership truly means.
